GNM Staff Nurse – Job Description
A GNM Staff Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, assisting doctors during treatment and medical procedures, monitoring patients' health, administering medications, and maintaining accurate medical records. The nurse ensures patient safety, infection control, and compassionate care while working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' health conditions and record vital signs.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Assist doctors during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
- Monitor patients' progress and report any changes in condition.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and other nursing procedures.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
- Educate patients and their families on medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid or basic life support when required.
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and safety.
- Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of nursing equipment and supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council registration.
