Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Shot Blasting & Painting Operator to join our plate processing/fabrication unit. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating shot blasting and painting machines for steel plates, along with a working knowledge of basic mechanical maintenance to keep the machine running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate shot blasting machine for surface preparation of steel plates
- Operate painting/coating machine/booth for plate finishing
- Ensure surface cleanliness and paint quality meet required standards before and after processing
- Monitor machine parameters during operation (abrasive flow, paint thickness, speed, etc.)
- Perform routine mechanical checks, minor troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on shot blasting and painting equipment
- Coordinate with maintenance team for major repairs or breakdowns
- Maintain daily production and maintenance logs
- Follow safety protocols (PPE usage, dust/fume control, machine lockout procedures)
- Ensure minimal downtime through timely upkeep of machine components
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating shot blasting and painting machines, preferably for plates/steel structures
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems for machine upkeep and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety guidelines
- Physically fit for shop-floor work
Preferred:
- Prior experience in shipbuilding, fabrication, or heavy engineering industry
- Familiarity with abrasive types and paint specifications used in industrial coating
Pay: ₹19,156.00 - ₹31,978.00 per month
