Civil Foreman
Overview
A Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site construction activities in civil projects such as roads, bridges, earthworks, drainage systems, and reinforced concrete structures. The role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards. The Civil Foreman acts as a key link between site workers, subcontractors, engineers, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate daily site activities of workers, subcontractors, and equipment operators
· Assign tasks based on workforce skills, project requirements, and site priorities
· Execute daily work schedules and monitor manpower, machinery, and material usage for efficient execution
· Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, site procedures, and risk management practices
· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
· Identify and correct defects or deviations in construction activities
· Monitor work progress and report daily activities, challenges, and achievements to engineers or project managers
· Coordinate with site engineers and management to resolve on-site technical and operational issues
· Train, guide, and supervise workers to improve productivity and workmanship
Required Skills
· Strong leadership and team management abilities
· Having the knowledge to read the drawings.
· Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and site practices
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities
· Strong organizational and decision-making skills
Qualifications & Experience
· Prior experience in civil construction works such as concrete structures, earthworks, drainage, or road construction
· Experience in supervising labour teams or working as an Assistant Foreman or similar role preferred
· Minimum education: High School Diploma (Diploma or Degree in Civil/Construction Management is an advantage)
