We are looking for a passionate and skilled Junior Pastry Chef to assist in the preparation of high-quality pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and baked products. The candidate should be eager to learn, maintain hygiene standards, and support the smooth operation of the pastry kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing pastries, cakes, cookies, breads, desserts, and bakery items.
- Follow standard recipes and portion control to ensure consistency.
- Support the Senior Pastry Chef in daily production and food preparation.
- Decorate cakes and desserts as per company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry kitchen and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products.
- Monitor stock usage and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Minimize food wastage and follow cost-control practices.
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Assist in receiving and checking bakery ingredients and supplies.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts, Hotel Management, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in pastry or bakery operations.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, cake decoration, pastries, breads, and desserts.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible shifts.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of cake frosting and basic dessert plating.
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
