HIRING – PURCHASE ENGINEER / PURCHASE EXECUTIVE
Location: Palakkad, Kerala
STAHLKIND is a growing sheet metal contract manufacturing company serving customers in Robotics, Automation, Telecom, Medical Devices, and Industrial Engineering sectors.
We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Purchase Engineer / Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities, coordinate outsourced manufacturing operations, and strengthen our supplier network.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow into a leadership position within our Supply Chain and Procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source and procure raw materials, hardware, consumables, and bought-out items.
- Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Identify alternate suppliers and reduce dependency on single vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure reliable supply.
Outsourcing Management
- Coordinate outsourced manufacturing activities including machining, fabrication, coating, plating, and other value-added processes.
- Float RFQs and evaluate supplier quotations.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely completion of outsourced jobs.
- Resolve supplier delays and escalate critical issues proactively.
- Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams to address vendor quality concerns.
Inventory & Planning
- Work closely with Stores and Production teams to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely purchases.
- Reduce excess inventory and slow-moving stock.
- Support material planning activities to avoid production interruptions.
Cost Optimization
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through supplier development, alternate sourcing, and commercial negotiations.
- Track material cost trends and recommend actions to improve profitability.
- Support management in achieving procurement savings targets.
Documentation & Systems
- Create and manage Purchase Orders and procurement records.
- Maintain supplier database and quotation history.
- Coordinate procurement activities through ERP/Zoho systems and related documentation.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.Tech / BE Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing procurement preferred.
- Fresh Purchase Engineers with strong aptitude may also apply.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, powder coating, and industrial manufacturing processes will be an advantage.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong follow-up and coordination ability.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP systems.

- Salary: ₹2.4 – ₹3.6 LPA (Based on experience and capability)
