About the Role
Topland Engines Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Plate Drilling Machine Operator to join our heavy steel fabrication division. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience operating CNC plate drilling machines equipped with Mitsubishi M80 Series controllers and be capable of handling heavy structural steel components with precision and efficiency.
The selected candidate will operate two CNC drilling machines with the following capacities:
- 3 m × 3 m CNC Plate Drilling Machine
- 6 m × 4 m CNC Plate Drilling Machine
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with advanced CNC technology in the steel fabrication industry and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC plate drilling machines using Mitsubishi M80 Series controllers.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and drilling layouts.
- Load, align, clamp, and unload steel plates safely and accurately.
- Set work offsets, tooling, and machining parameters.
- Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking, spot facing, and marking operations as required.
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform daily machine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor tooling condition and recommend replacements when necessary.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and planning teams to meet daily production targets.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and follow all safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Fitter, CNC Programming, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating CNC plate drilling machines.
- Practical knowledge of Mitsubishi M80 Series Controller.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand GD&T fundamentals.
- Experience handling heavy steel plates and structural fabrication work.
- Knowledge of drilling tools, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments including Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Dial Indicators.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in structural steel fabrication, bridge fabrication, PEB, transmission towers, or heavy engineering.
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC machine alarms and basic operational issues.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and tooling management.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts when required.
