Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Eye Bank Technician to support the Eye Bank team in the collection, handling, transportation, and proper care of donor tissues and specimens. The role requires close coordination with nursing staff, the Cornea Emergency Unit, and Operation Theatre personnel while maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and equipment upkeep.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Collect and transport blood samples and other specimens as required.
- Receive, handle, and transport donor tissues safely and appropriately.
- Take donor tissues to the Cornea Emergency Unit and Operation Theatre as required.
- Coordinate effectively with nursing staff and Operation Theatre personnel for timely movement and handling of donor tissues.
- Maintain and upkeep Eye Bank equipment, facilities, and designated work areas.
- Ensure proper handling, identification, storage, and transportation of donor tissues and specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow infection-control, hygiene, safety, and quality procedures at all times.
- Maintain required records and documentation related to specimen and tissue handling.
- Report any discrepancies, equipment issues, or incidents to the concerned supervisor promptly.
- Perform other Eye Bank-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

- Attention to detail, particularly in tissue and specimen handling.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Responsible, punctual, and willing to work in a hospital/clinical environment.
- Freshers with a relevant Graduate/Diploma qualification may apply.
Preferred Profile
Candidates with prior experience in an Eye Bank, hospital, laboratory, tissue bank, or healthcare environment will be an added advantage.
