About the Role:
The purpose of the Web Developer ( with a focus on infrastructure) is to understand the vision of HR.com and use this knowledge to ensure a high-quality experience. As a developer, you will translate mockups and guidelines into usable web based applications, to be used by both front facing members of our website, as well as backend admins and staff.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build incredible user experiences based on in-depth user research and usability testing.
- Build and maintain top quality, accurate and innovative applications to address the needs of all departments.
- Improve existing applications built with Ruby, MongoDB and Node JS.
- Work closely with designers and product managers to understand their needs and translate them into usable online experiences.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, performance improvements and bug fixes to applications.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to develop final products.
- Work with and manipulate databases to automate, update, modify and report on data and structure.
- Take visual mockups and verbal concepts through to final deployment of applications.
- Collaborate with designers and QA to finalize front end interfaces for testing, bug fixing and deployment.
What does it take to be a successful web developer at HR.com?
A university or college degree in computer science, IT, technology or equivalent, plus 2-5 years experience with working knowledge of:
- Design - HTML/CSS, HTML5/CSS 3
- Scripting - Javascript, jQuery, Angular JS
- Coding -
- Ruby on Rails, Python, PHPCMS - Drupal, Wordpress or similar
- Frameworks and Libraries - Symfony or similar, Bootstrap or similar
- Database - Expert working knowledge of MongoDB, F
- Version Control - Git, Bitbucket or similar
- Basic SEO knowledge
