We are looking for a Junior Print Technologist – QC & PPC to support production planning, quality control, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in our label printing facility.
The candidate should have a basic understanding of flexographic printing, print quality standards, and production workflows. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in print technology while gaining exposure to both quality management and production planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control (QC)
- Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
- Verify print quality against approved artwork and customer standards.
- Check:
- Color consistency
- Registration
- Barcode quality
- Text legibility
- Die-cut accuracy
- Varnish and finishing quality
- Record quality observations and maintain inspection reports.
- Escalate quality issues to senior technical personnel when required.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and internal rejections.
Production Planning & Control (PPC)
- Prepare daily and weekly production plans.
- Coordinate job scheduling with Production, Prepress, and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor job progress and update production status.
- Ensure timely availability of:
- Artwork approvals
- Printing plates
- Inks
- Substrates
- Cylinders and tooling
- Track delivery commitments and production timelines.
- Maintain production records and planning reports.
Production Coordination
- Follow up with press operators regarding planned jobs.
- Monitor machine utilization and job completion status.
- Assist in minimizing downtime and production delays.
- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement for material requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain QC reports, job cards, production trackers, and daily MIS.
- Generate reports on:
- Rejections
- Rework
- Production efficiency
- On-time delivery performance
- Support ISO, GMP, or customer audits as required.
Desired QualificationsEducation
- Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Printing Technology
- Diploma in Packaging Technology (Preferred)
- Any technical qualification with relevant flexographic printing experience
Experience
- 2–3 years in:
- Label Printing
- Flexographic Printing
- Quality Control
- Production Planning
Preferred SkillsTechnical
- Basic understanding of Flexographic Printing
- Knowledge of label manufacturing processes
- Understanding of print defects and corrective actions
