Role Overview
We are looking for a high-ownership generalist to join the Founder’s Office at TartanHQ. This is a role for someone who thrives on ambiguity, moves fast, and can drop into any part of the business to get things done. You will work directly with the founders on strategic projects — ranging from new business initiatives and operational improvements to special analyses and cross-functional execution. One week you might be building a go-to-market plan, the next unblocking a stalled project across teams, the next running the numbers on a strategic decision. The right person is a force multiplier for the founders: trusted, resourceful, and able to turn intent into outcomes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
No two weeks look the same. You might be: scoping and driving a strategic project end-to-end, gathering data and building a recommendation for a founder decision, coordinating across product, engineering, sales, and operations to unblock progress, setting up or improving an internal process, preparing board or investor material, or stepping into a gap until a permanent owner is hired. You will operate with autonomy and a strong bias to action.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Projects (40% time allocation)

Own and execute high-priority strategic initiatives for the founders

Define problem statements, structure the work, and drive to outcomes

Run market, competitor, and opportunity analyses to inform decisions

Build business cases, models, and recommendations
Cross-functional Execution (30% time allocation)

Move projects forward across product, engineering, sales, and operations

Identify bottlenecks and proactively unblock teams

Coordinate stakeholders and hold initiatives accountable to timelines

Step into operational gaps and stabilize them
Decision Support & Analysis (20% time allocation)

Turn ambiguous questions into structured analysis and clear options

Prepare leadership, board, and investor-facing material

Track key metrics and surface insights to the founders
Operations & Process (10% time allocation)

Design and improve internal processes and operating cadences

Document decisions and ensure follow-through across the org
Required Skills & Qualifications

4–8 years of experience in consulting, startups, founder’s office, strategy, operations, or a similar high-ownership generalist role

Strong structured problem-solving and first-principles thinking

Excellent analytical skills — comfortable with data, models, and spreadsheets

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management

Proven ability to lead projects without formal authority

High comfort with ambiguity, speed, and shifting priorities
Preferred Skills

Experience at a high-growth startup or scaling environment

Exposure to fintech, SaaS, or API/infrastructure businesses

MBA or equivalent, or a strong track record that substitutes for it

Familiarity with product, GTM, and operations across the business
