Job Purpose
To support the school's existing swimming programme by providing professional swimming instruction, ensuring student safety, assisting in coaching activities, and working collaboratively with the swimming team to develop students' swimming skills and promote aquatic sports.
Key ResponsibilitiesSwimming Coaching
- Conduct swimming lessons for students as per the coaching schedule.
- Teach swimming techniques, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, floating, breathing, and water confidence.
- Assist in training students for inter-school, district, state, and national-level competitions.
- Support the Head Coach in implementing training plans and coaching strategies.
- Assess students' progress and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Student Safety
- Ensure the safety and supervision of students during all swimming sessions.
- Enforce swimming pool rules and safety regulations.
- Be vigilant during training sessions and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Administer First Aid and CPR when required.
- Ensure lifesaving equipment is available and in working condition.
Team Coordination
- Work collaboratively with the existing swimming instructors and coaching staff.
- Follow training schedules and instructions issued by the Head Coach.
- Assist fellow instructors during group sessions, competitions, and special coaching camps.
- Maintain effective communication with the Physical Education Department.
Pool & Equipment
- Assist in checking the pool area before and after sessions.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of swimming equipment.
- Report maintenance requirements, equipment damage, or safety concerns promptly.
- Help maintain cleanliness and discipline within the pool premises.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance and student performance records.
- Assist in preparing coaching schedules and event plans.
- Support the organization of swimming meets, school sports events, and aquatic competitions.
- Submit reports as required by the Head Coach or School Management.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in school sports programmes, annual events, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain discipline and uphold the school's values and code of conduct.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Principal, Head of Physical Education, or Head Coach.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or equivalent (preferred).
- Recognized Swimming Coach/Instructor Certification.
- Lifeguard Certification (preferred).
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Swimming Instructor or Coach.
- Experience coaching school students will be an added advantage.

Working Hours
As per school timings and swimming schedules, including additional hours during competitions, camps, and special training sessions as required.
Salary
As per school norms and experience.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
