OVERVIEW:
The Associate Vendor Manager is responsible for guiding vendors through our recruitment and certification program, including documents signature and collection, testing, rate negotiation and systems maintenance.
DESCRIPTION:
- Provide on-the-job support to the Vendor Management team
- Be knowledgeable of the needs and requirements of the internal Production departments
- Become familiar with translation directories and sourcing tools
- Help with proactively recruiting new resources for different types of services, to expand the company’s database of external vendors
- Test recruited vendors according to specialized skill-sets, following the company’s testing and onboarding documented process and using the required platforms
- Negotiate preferred rates with onboarded vendors according to company, department or project needs
- Promote newly recruited and tested vendors to the appropriate Production teams for use on live projects and to Internal Linguists’ teams for training opportunities
- Assist Production and Sales teams on a daily basis with vendor onboarding and certification-related issues and questions
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with contract vendors, Production staff and internal teams globally
- Help vendors with any issues or questions they may have, as well as ensure good communication between external collaborators and internal employees
- Assist with administration tasks as required by the team
- Discuss with the direct manager to find a viable means of making processes more efficient
- Proactively seek additional tasks and duties to benefit TransPerfect as a whole
- Research and understand all industries that TransPerfect markets to, including industry leaders, current events and any other pertinent data
- Complete any other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

- Ability to prioritize activities on a daily basis to accomplish request steps effectively and efficiently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in negotiation and persuasion
- Customer service experience.
