Senior Full Stack Developer
Frontend (React/Angular/Vue) | PHP/Laravel & Python | Node.js | AI-Assisted Development
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who can own both frontend and backend architecture end-to-end — building modern, responsive UIs in React, Angular, or Vue, and working fluently across PHP (Laravel) or Python with Node.js on the backend. You'll design scalable systems, integrate third-party services, and help shape technical direction — while staying current with modern, AI-assisted development practices that keep the team shipping fast without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities

Build responsive, performant user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue), and design and implement scalable backend solutions using Python with Node.js, or Laravel with Node.js.
- Optimise application performance and ensure robust security measures across the stack.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs into existing and new systems.
- Manage database design, schema optimisation, and query performance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, including code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
- Plan and implement architectural decisions for projects, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
- Document technical workflows and processes comprehensively for the team and stakeholders.
- Plan and execute project sprints; estimate tasks, manage risks, and report progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery of milestones within an Agile environment.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development, prototyping, and code review — while applying sound engineering judgment to validate, refactor, and own AI-generated code rather than merging it blindly.
Required Skills
Frontend Technologies (Mandatory)

Strong, hands-on expertise in at least one modern frontend framework: React, Angular, or Vue.js, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, including component-based architecture, state management, and responsive design.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services built in PHP/Laravel or Python/Node.js.
Backend Development (one or both stacks)

Python & Node.js: Django, Flask, or FastAPI; API integration; data processing; scripting; and backend architecture.
- Laravel & Node.js: Eloquent ORM, Laravel Service Container, Express.js, RESTful APIs, and performance optimisation.
JavaScript / Node.js Depth

Strong, hands-on expertise in Node.js and at least one modern JS framework (Express.js, NestJS, etc.), with a track record of building and scaling production backend services.
Databases

Experience with MySQL (required); PostgreSQL and MongoDB are a plus.
Tools & Practices

Version Control: Proficiency in Git and Bitbucket.
- API Development & Integration: Strong understanding of designing and implementing scalable, secure APIs.
- Application Performance: Knowledge of caching strategies, load balancing, and monitoring tools.
- AI-Assisted / “vibe coding” Tools: Comfortable using AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) for rapid prototyping, boilerplate generation, debugging, and code review, with the judgment to know when to rely on them and when not to.
- Communication & Leadership: Ability to mentor team members and communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders and clients.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and work with emerging tools, frameworks, and AI-driven workflows.
Nice to Have

Cloud Services: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (especially Cloud Functions), AWS, or Azure.
- Containerization: Experience with Docker for deployment.
- CI/CD & TDD: Ability to set up and manage continuous integration and test-driven development workflows.
- Mobile Application Technologies: Exposure to mobile app development or cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant full-stack development experience.
- A proven portfolio of past projects showcasing technical proficiency.
- Previous experience working in Agile and remote team environments.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with performance optimisation and scalable architecture.
- A self-motivated, proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making in dynamic scenarios.
