Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Fixture Designer to lead the design and development of machining, assembly, and inspection fixtures. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in fixture concepts, 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and GD&T principles. This role requires leadership skills to guide the design team, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and ensure the successful execution of fixture projects from concept to implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of machining, assembly, and inspection fixtures based on customer and production requirements.
- Develop innovative fixture concepts considering manufacturability, functionality, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create detailed 3D models using SolidWorks and prepare 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure design accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
- Review and approve fixture designs, drawings, and technical documentation prepared by the design team.
- Coordinate closely with production, machining, quality, and project teams to ensure fixture feasibility and timely execution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing existing fixture designs for enhanced performance and reduced costs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior fixture designers and support their skill development.
- Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities related to fixture performance.
- Support manufacturing teams with technical clarifications, design modifications, and implementation of engineering changes.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure fixture design deliverables are completed as per schedule.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in fixture design concepts, manufacturing processes, and tooling applications.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent skills in 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Ability to independently develop fixture concepts and lead design projects.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of machining processes, inspection methodologies, and manufacturing practices.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 8–15 years of experience in fixture design, tooling engineering, or related manufacturing environments.
Pay: ₹587,068.51 - ₹1,252,418.58 per year
