Job Description Software Architect –
ADAS & Adaptive AUTOSAR VALLocation JLR TBSI BengaluruDepartment ADAS Autonomous Driving Architecture Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to lead the design and structural definition of our nextgeneration ADAS software platforms.
In this role, you will be the technical authority for the Vehicle Abstraction Layer VAL and the integration of Adaptive AUTOSAR middleware.
Your primary focus will be to design a scalable, highperformance, and safetycompliant architecture that allows complex ADAS algorithms to operate seamlessly across diverse vehicle platforms and heterogeneous hardware environments.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design Lead the architectural design of the Vehicle Abstraction Layer VAL to ensure robust decoupling between highlevel ADAS functions and lowlevel vehicle hardwareactuators.
SOA Implementation Design and define ServiceOriented Architecture SOA patterns within the Adaptive AUTOSAR framework to facilitate seamless communication via SOMEIP and other middleware.
System Integration Bridge the gap between different software domains Perception, Planning, and Control and the underlying communicationhardware layers to ensure a cohesive system.
Performance Engineering Define architectural requirements and patterns to optimize endtoend latency sensortoactuator and manage resource constraints CPU, Memory, and Network bandwidth in highperformance computing environments.
Safety & Compliance Ensure the software architecture is designed in accordance with ISO 26262 ASIL D standards, focusing on fault isolation, redundancy, and functional safety requirements.
Technical Leadership Lead technical design reviews, provide architectural guidance to development teams, and ensure that implementation aligns with the defined architectural vision.
Standardization Drive the adoption of industry standards such as AUTOSAR Adaptive, SOMEIP, and DDS to ensure futureproof and scalable software solutions.
Tradeoff Analysis Conduct rigorous analysis of technical tradeoffs e.g., flexibility vs. performance, complexity vs. safety to make informed architectural decisions.
Required Technical Expertise Architecture Patterns Strong architectural design expertise in ServiceOriented Architecture SOA, layered and componentbased software architectures. Proven experience with QNX, Linux, and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments, coupled with solid knowledge of UML diagrams for systemsoftware design, documentation, and analysis. Middleware & Communication Deep knowledge of Adaptive AUTOSAR stacks and automotive communication protocols, specifically SOMEIP, Ethernet, and CANFD.
ADAS Domain Knowledge A thorough understanding of the ADASAD software stack, from sensor data ingestion to vehicle motion control. Embedded Systems Advanced understanding of highperformance operating systems QNX, LinuxRTOS and the interaction between software and automotive hardware.
