The role requires extensive expertise in architecting secure, scalable, and highly available API ecosystems using Azure API Management (APIM), API gateways, REST APIs, SOAP services, and microservices architectures.
The architect will have strong experience in API lifecycle management, API security, authentication, monitoring, integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures. The role involves designing enterprise API strategies, implementing DevOps automation, establishing API governance standards, and delivering scalable integration solutions using Agile methodologies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement enterprise API management solutions using Microsoft Azure API Management (APIM).
2. Architect API gateway solutions to expose, secure, manage, and monitor enterprise APIs.
3. Develop and manage RESTful APIs and SOAP services through Azure APIM.
4. Configure API policies including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, throttling, caching, transformation, validation, and routing.
5. Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT tokens, API keys, certificates, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
6. Design and implement API lifecycle management processes including API publishing, versioning, revision management, and retirement.
7. Integrate Azure APIM with backend services including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Service Bus, Event Grid, and external applications.
8. Design API integration patterns for enterprise applications and cloud-native solutions.
9. Configure and manage Azure APIM instances across development, testing, and production environments.
10. Implement CI/CD automation for API deployments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
11. Develop API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger standards.
12. Monitor API performance, availability, and usage using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
13. Troubleshoot API gateway issues, connectivity challenges, performance bottlenecks, and security concerns.
