- Radiation Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable radiation safety regulations, licenses, and statutory requirements.
Treatment Planning & Dosimetry
- Perform treatment planning for external beam radiotherapy using Treatment Planning Systems (TPS).
- Generate and optimize treatment plans for 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SRS, SBRT, and other advanced radiotherapy techniques.
- Calculate and verify radiation doses to ensure optimal target coverage and organ-at-risk sparing.
- Participate in contour review and treatment plan evaluation with Radiation Oncologists.
- Perform patient-specific quality assurance (QA) and plan verification before treatment delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatment plans and dosimetric calculations.
- Assist in adaptive radiotherapy and special treatment procedures as required.
Quality Assurance & Equipment Management
- Perform routine QA, calibration, and commissioning of Linear Accelerators (LINAC), CT Simulators, Treatment Planning Systems, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with national and international radiotherapy quality standards.
- Conduct acceptance testing and performance evaluations of new radiotherapy equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate with service engineers for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Maintain QA records and equipment calibration reports.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain radiation safety records, QA documentation, and treatment planning records.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports related to radiation safety and departmental quality indicators.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory reports and compliance documentation.
Training & Education
- Train Radiation Therapists, Technologists, and other staff on radiation safety and treatment planning protocols.
- Participate in departmental academic activities, audits, and continuing education programs.
- Support implementation of new technologies and treatment techniques.
- Function as the designated Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) as per regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities for inspections, approvals, audits, and license renewals.
- Conduct periodic radiation surveys and workplace monitoring.
- Monitor occupational radiation exposure and maintain personnel dosimetry records.
- Investigate radiation-related incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct radiation safety training programs for departmental and hospital staff.
