Urgently Hiring Quality Head for Frozen Vegetables Manufacturing Industry
Designation: Quality Head

Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years (Preferably 8–12 Years in Food Processing / Frozen Food Industry)
Industry Preference: Frozen Vegetables / IQF Foods / Food Processing / FMCG / Agro Processing
Reporting To: Plant Head / Director – Operations
Job Purpose
To lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions of the frozen vegetables manufacturing plant by ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS)
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems across the plant.
- Ensure compliance with:
- HACCP
- GMP
- GHP
- FSSAI
- ISO 22000
- BRCGS
- Customer-specific standards
- Review and update quality procedures, SOPs, and policies.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality systems and processes.
2. Food Safety Management
- Lead food safety programs and ensure effective implementation.
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs).
- Ensure compliance with food safety requirements throughout production.
- Conduct food safety risk assessments and hazard analysis.
- Promote food safety awareness and culture across the organization.
3. Raw Material & Supplier Quality Management
- Establish quality specifications for raw vegetables, ingredients, and packaging materials.
- Approve and evaluate suppliers based on quality performance.
- Monitor incoming material inspection and acceptance processes.
- Coordinate supplier audits and corrective action follow-ups.
- Ensure traceability of raw materials.
4. Frozen Vegetable Processing Quality Control
- Monitor quality parameters during:
- Raw material receiving
- Washing and sorting
- Cutting and grading
- Blanching
- IQF freezing
- Packaging
- Cold storage
- Ensure product quality, texture, color, size, and microbiological standards meet specifications.
- Monitor freezing efficiency and cold chain integrity.
5. Laboratory Management
- Supervise chemical, physical, and microbiological testing activities.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Review test results and approve product release.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate testing with external NABL-accredited laboratories when required.
6. Audit & Certification Management
- Lead internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- Manage audits related to:
- BRCGS
- ISO 22000
- FSSAI
- Customer audits
- Export compliance audits
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and non-conformities.
- Maintain audit readiness at all times.
7. Customer Complaint & CAPA Management
- Investigate customer complaints and quality issues.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Monitor complaint trends and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare customer response reports and quality improvement plans.
8. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain quality records, specifications, manuals, and reports.
- Review batch manufacturing records and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and customer documentation requirements.
- Manage document control systems and record retention.
9. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead QA, QC, microbiology, and food safety teams.
- Conduct training programs on quality and food safety.
- Establish departmental objectives and KPIs.
- Mentor and develop team members.
- Drive a culture of accountability and quality excellence.
10. Continuous Improvement & Quality Excellence
- Identify opportunities for process and product quality improvement.
- Reduce customer complaints, product rejections, and quality losses.
- Implement quality improvement projects and best practices.
- Support new product development and validation activities.

Preferred Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field

- Strong experience in frozen food, IQF vegetables, or food processing industries

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in frozen vegetables, IQF foods, or food processing operations.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards, microbiology, and quality systems.
- Proven experience in handling audits, regulatory inspections, and customer quality requirements.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
