Job Summary
Espire Hospitality Group is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Assistant Manager – Engineering to join Hotel Country Inn Jalandhar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all hotel engineering systems, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department.
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of all hotel equipment and utilities.
- Supervise maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, DG sets, water treatment systems, elevators, kitchen equipment, and fire & life safety systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to identify maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance requests promptly.
- Monitor the performance of engineering associates and external contractors.
- Maintain engineering logs, equipment history, maintenance schedules, and statutory records.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fire safety standards, and company SOPs.
- Monitor utility consumption and support initiatives for energy conservation and cost optimization.
- Assist in planning annual maintenance schedules and departmental budgets.
- Ensure all engineering equipment is maintained in optimal working condition to enhance guest satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Sound knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, DG sets, fire & life safety systems, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
- Good leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
- Familiarity with hotel engineering standards and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergency maintenance situations.
