AWS Cloud Systems Administrator
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and
detail-oriented AWS Cloud Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure
team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Amazon Web
Services (AWS) environments, administering Windows and/or Linux servers, and
supporting cloud-based infrastructure. This role is ideal for professionals
with up to five years of experience who are looking to expand their cloud
administration skills in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
Deploy and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, and Route 53.
Perform system administration for Windows and Linux servers hosted in AWS.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using AWS monitoring and logging tools.
Configure user access, permissions, and security policies using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Assist with infrastructure automation using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues in cloud environments.
Apply operating system patches, software updates, and security configurations.
Document system configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and application teams to support cloud initiatives.
Participate in on-call support and scheduled maintenance activities as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
3–5 years of experience in systems administration or cloud infrastructure support.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
Experience with Active Directory and DNS administration.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices and identity management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Knowledge of backup, monitoring, and endpoint management solutions.
