- Collect, receive, label, and prepare patient or laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and other specimens.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures according to established protocols.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and laboratory materials as required.
- Accurately record, verify, and report test results.
- Maintain proper documentation, laboratory registers, and patient records.
- Follow quality-control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the laboratory.
- Follow laboratory safety, infection-control, and biomedical-waste disposal procedures.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, abnormal results, or sample-related issues.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals when required.
- Maintain adequate stock of reagents, consumables, and other laboratory supplies.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or a relevant laboratory science field.
- Relevant registration or certification, where applicable.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and safety protocols.
- Previous experience in a hospital, diagnostic center, or clinical laboratory is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures
- Good sample-handling and documentation skills
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment
