- Cleaning: Cleaning, dusting, and polishing guest rooms, bathrooms, and other public areas
- Making beds: Changing bed linens and towels, and making beds
- Stocking supplies: Replenishing guest supplies, such as toiletries, tea, coffee, and biscuits
- Guest service: Greeting guests, responding to their queries, and resolving complaints
- Security: Ensuring the security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
- Reporting: Reporting maintenance issues, damage, or other problems to the head housekeeper
- Laundry: Collecting laundry and dry cleaning for guests, and sorting and counting linen and towels
- Cleaning carts: Loading cleaning carts with sheets, supplies, and amenities for guests
- Rotation cleaning: Performing rotation cleaning duties, such as steam cleaning carpets
- Delivering and retrieving items: Delivering and retrieving items on loan to guests, such as irons and ironing boards
