- Develop new patterns for cast iron components based on engineering drawings
- Select suitable materials (wood, metal, resin) based on casting requirements.
- Apply proper allowances (shrinkage, machining, draft, distortion) for cast iron castings.
- Repair, modify, and maintain existing patterns to ensure production continuity.
- Coordinate with design, moulding, and melting departments for pattern suitability.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish of patterns.
- Conduct trial fitting and rectify pattern defects before production.
- Maintain pattern records, storage, and identification systems
