The Junior Engineer (Civil) assists in the planning, execution, supervision, and quality control of civil construction projects. The role involves monitoring day-to-day site activities, ensuring work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Supervision
- Supervise daily construction activities at the site.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and BOQ.
- Coordinate with supervisors, subcontractors, and skilled workers.
- Monitor labour productivity and work progress.
2. Setting Out & Survey
- Carry out site layout, leveling, and alignment using surveying instruments.
- Verify dimensions, levels, and coordinates before execution.
- Assist in quantity verification and measurements.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, IS codes, CPWD/PWD standards, and contract requirements.
- Inspect construction materials before use.
- Monitor concrete, masonry, reinforcement, finishing, and other civil works.
- Report quality deviations and assist in corrective actions.
4. Quantity Measurement
- Measure executed work quantities.
- Prepare Measurement Books (MB) and quantity statements.
- Assist in preparation of Running Account (RA) Bills and subcontractor bills.
- Verify material consumption against BOQ.
5. Material Management
- Monitor receipt, storage, and utilization of construction materials.
- Coordinate with the store and procurement department.
- Maintain records of material consumption and wastage.
6. Planning & Scheduling
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Monitor project progress against the approved schedule.
- Report delays and recommend corrective measures.
7. Documentation
- Maintain site registers, inspection reports, and work records.
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
- Maintain drawing registers and document revisions.
8. Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Attend site meetings and implement instructions issued by senior engineers.
- Ensure smooth communication between the site and head office.
9. Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote the use of PPE by all workers.
- Report unsafe conditions and assist in accident prevention.
10. Billing Support
- Assist in preparation of client bills and subcontractor bills.
- Verify measurements before billing.
- Support project cost monitoring and quantity reconciliation.
11. Equipment & Resource Management
- Monitor the efficient utilization of construction equipment.
- Coordinate machinery deployment with site requirements.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of equipment.
12. Problem Solving
- Identify technical issues during execution.
- Suggest practical engineering solutions with approval from senior engineers.
- Assist in minimizing rework and material wastage.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
