Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Bengaluru, India
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in the design and development of world-class Power Distribution Centers (PDC), Power Equipment Centers (PEC), Modular E-Houses, LV/MV Switchgear, and Industrial Electrical Systems with minimum 8+ years' experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
· B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering with minimum 8+ years of experience in MV Switchgear Design with a switchgear manufacturer.
· Hands-on experience in various types of Switchgear’s, MV/LV Switchgear, Transformers, MCCs, UPS, Cables
· Strong knowledge of SLDs, Electrical Layouts & Protection Coordination design, and Vendor drawing review & technical documentation.
· Protection Relays & Relay Coordination.
· Practical experience in designing Low-, Medium-, and High-Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards. Vendor Print Review & Technical Bid Evaluation
· Proficiency in Power Distribution Design, BOM, and specifications.
· Experience designing LV/MV distribution panels, hybrid generators, recloser panels, transformers, enclosures, and bus bars.
· Strong understanding of single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring design for LV systems (≤ 600V)
· Familiarity with LV components, including circuit breakers, busbars, relays, meters, and control devices.
· Working knowledge of UL standards (UL 891, UL 67, UL 508A) and applicable NEC codes.
· Understanding of busbar sizing, short-circuit ratings, and thermal considerations.
· Experience with protective device coordination and basic system design principles is a plus.
· Experience with Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or equivalent products is preferred.
· Ensure designs comply with UL standards, NEC requirements, customer specifications, and internal manufacturing capabilities
· Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; experience with AutoCAD Electrical
Job Summary:
· Lead and actively contribute to the design and development of complex electro-mechanical systems and components.
· Create and review detailed design drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications using CAD tools.
· Develop high-quality technical documentation such as design reports, test procedures, and user manuals.
· Ensure all designs comply with organizational standards, industry regulations, and applicable codes.
· Design LV/MV switchgear and switchboards for customer projects.
· Coordinate closely with Team Leads or Project Managers to manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
· Review RFQs, drawings, and technical specifications to prepare accurate quotations.
· Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation and commercial offers, cost estimations, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
· Coordinate with sales teams, customers, consultants, and suppliers to ensure competitive proposals.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery
