Job description
Maintenance Head for a Steel Melting Shop (SMS) oversees all steelmaking operations—from raw materials to finished billets—ensuring production, quality, and safety targets are met. They typically manage EAF/Induction Furnaces, CCM, and cost optimization, requiring 10+ years of experience and a Diploma or Engineering in Electrical
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operations: Lead SMS and Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) operations to meet output and quality targets.
- Cost Control & Efficiency: Optimize manufacturing processes (e.g., tap-to-tap time reduction, raw material management) to improve yield and reduce operational costs.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations (HSSE), environmental standards, and quality management systems.
- Leadership & Management: Manage departmental manpower, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation for staff.
- Process Improvement: Implement technological enhancements (e.g., AOD, LRF processes) and new, modern equipment for better productivity.
- Quality Control: Oversee metallurgical quality of steel produced, ensuring compliance with BIS norms.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Generally 10-15 years in steel melting (EAF or Induction Furnace).
- Education: Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge of steelmaking, project planning, and the ability to run a profit center independently.
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹130,000.00 per month
