About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Techno-Commercial Manager to lead vendor development, subcontract management, outsourcing activities, contract administration, and commercial negotiations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring outsourced works are executed as per technical specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and commercial commitments while driving cost optimization and risk mitigation.
Key ResponsibilitiesVendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop fabrication vendors, subcontractors, and specialized service providers.
- Assess vendor capabilities, infrastructure, manpower, machinery, quality systems, and delivery performance.
- Develop and maintain an approved vendor database.
- Identify alternate vendors to ensure business continuity and reduce dependency.
- Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
- Build strong long-term relationships with strategic vendors and subcontractors.
Techno-Commercial Evaluation
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements before floating enquiries.
- Obtain quotations for outsourced works and materials.
- Prepare technical and commercial comparison statements.
- Evaluate vendors based on technical capability, quality standards, lead times, execution capacity, and commercial competitiveness.
- Support management in vendor and subcontractor selection.
Outsourced Production & Subcontract Management
- Manage outsourced fabrication, machining, powder coating, anodizing, glazing, steel works, and specialized façade activities.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Projects, and Quality teams to define outsourcing requirements.
- Monitor production schedules, progress, and delivery commitments.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Resolve operational issues affecting production, quality, delivery, or project schedules.
Contracts & Commercial Management
- Prepare, review, and administer purchase orders, work orders, subcontract agreements, and service contracts.
- Define scope of work, deliverables, payment terms, timelines, quality requirements, and responsibilities.
- Negotiate pricing, payment milestones, delivery schedules, retention clauses, warranties, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor contract compliance and vendor commitments.
- Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes, delays, commercial issues, and vendor claims.
- Maintain complete documentation and records of contracts and commercial correspondence.
Quality & Performance Monitoring
- Coordinate with Quality teams for inspections and approvals.
- Participate in vendor audits and quality reviews.
- Monitor vendor quality performance and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with approved materials and components.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor outsourcing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct market studies and benchmark pricing.
- Prepare commercial evaluation reports and cost comparison statements.
- Track procurement costs, outsourcing expenditures, and vendor commitments.
- Submit regular MIS reports and progress updates to management.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional qualification in Procurement, Contracts, Supply Chain, or Commercial Management is preferred.
Experience Required
- 12–15 years of experience in the Façade, Construction, Aluminium, Manufacturing, Engineering, or EPC industry.
- Proven experience in procurement, contracts, subcontract management, vendor development, and commercial negotiations.
- Strong exposure to outsourced fabrication, specialized vendors, and project execution environments.
