Job Description
Kefa Solar Energy is looking for a skilled and responsible Solar O&M Technician (Operations & Maintenance) to join our team in Changanacherry, Kottayam.
The technician will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of solar PV systems installed at residential, commercial, and other project sites.
The ideal candidate should have basic electrical knowledge, practical troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to work at different customer and project locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect solar PV panels, mounting structures, cables, connectors, and related equipment.
- Carry out regular preventive maintenance of solar power systems.
- Perform cleaning and basic maintenance of solar panels.
- Check solar generation and identify performance-related issues.
- Inspect and troubleshoot solar DC and AC systems.
- Check and troubleshoot inverter-related faults.
- Inspect cables, connectors, junction boxes, isolators, MCBs, earthing, and other electrical components.
- Identify damaged or defective components and report them to the supervisor.
- Carry out corrective maintenance and minor repair work.
- Assist in replacing faulty electrical and solar components.
- Monitor system performance and report abnormalities.
- Attend customer service and maintenance complaints.
- Visit customer sites for inspection and service calls.
- Maintain proper service records and maintenance reports.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all work is completed according to company quality and safety standards.
- Follow electrical and working-at-height safety procedures.
- Coordinate with the electrical and installation teams.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare materials.
- Provide professional service and support to customers.
Requirements
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Knowledge of solar PV systems is preferred.
- Experience in solar installation, maintenance, electrical work, or technical service will be an advantage.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical faults.
- Willingness to work at different project/customer locations.
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Responsible, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in:
- Solar PV installation
- Solar panel maintenance
- Solar inverter servicing
- Electrical maintenance
