Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and student-focused Academic Counsellor to guide prospective and existing students in making informed educational decisions. The Academic Counsellor will be responsible for counselling students on academic programs, career pathways, admission procedures, and supporting them throughout their educational journey to ensure a positive student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel prospective students and parents regarding academic programs, admission requirements, course structures, and career opportunities.
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions through phone calls, virtual meetings, and face-to-face interactions.
- Understand student needs, interests, and career aspirations to recommend suitable programs.
- Manage student inquiries and follow up on leads to support admissions targets.
- Assist students with application processes, documentation, and enrollment procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and admissions data in CRM systems.
- Coordinate with academic, admissions, and administrative teams to ensure smooth onboarding of students.
- Address student concerns and provide appropriate academic and personal support referrals when required.
- Stay updated on educational trends, program offerings, industry requirements, and institutional policies.
- Support student retention initiatives and contribute to overall student satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- 1–5 years of experience in academic counselling, admissions counselling, student services, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of higher education systems and academic programs.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication (malayalam and english) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong counselling and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to understand student needs and provide tailored guidance.
- Sales and persuasion skills with a consultative approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
