Position description: Production Manager
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily welding production activities.
- Ensure achievement of production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
- Optimize manpower allocation and machine utilization.
- Monitor line balancing and improve throughput.
- Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments.
- Ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Monitor welding parameters and process stability.
- Improve welding productivity, cycle time, and first-pass yield.
- Control weld quality and minimize weld-related defects.
- Ensure proper use of welding fixtures, jigs, and tools.
- Ensure products meet customer and internal quality requirements.
- Analyze welding defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support internal, customer, and certification audits.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap levels.
- Ensure compliance with welding safety standards and PPE requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Promote safe handling of welding equipment, gases, and consumables.
- Drive zero-accident and zero-incident culture.
- Lead and supervise welding engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Conduct skill assessments and training programs.
- Develop multi-skilled workforce capabilities.
- Manage attendance, discipline, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of welding machines and robotic systems.
- Ensure high equipment availability and reliability.
- Monitor consumable usage and machine health.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and cost-reduction projects.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Reduce welding consumable costs and cycle times.
- Implement automation and process improvement initiatives where applicable.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Monitor KPIs and present performance reviews.
- Maintain process records, production data, and audit documentation.
