About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing construction projects.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of site execution, project coordination, contractors/vendors, manpower, materials, quality, safety, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution
- Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing construction activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Monitor project progress against the approved schedule.
- Ensure assigned activities are completed within the committed timeline.
- Identify delays and take corrective action in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Coordinate multiple site activities simultaneously.
2. Site Management
- Regularly monitor site activities and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, supervisors, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure proper manpower deployment at the site.
- Monitor daily productivity and work progress.
- Resolve day-to-day site execution issues.
3. Team Coordination
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, QS, QA/QC, Architects, vendors, and contractors.
- Conduct regular site coordination meetings.
- Ensure clear communication of work instructions to the site team.
- Follow up on pending activities and ensure timely closure.
4. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for timely execution.
- Allocate clear work timelines before starting activities.
- Monitor vendor performance and productivity.
- Verify completed work before recommending further processing/payment.
- Escalate vendor delays and performance issues to the Project Manager.
5. Material Management
- Prepare and review site-wise material requirements.
- Coordinate with Procurement/Accounts for timely material availability.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Ensure materials are stored properly at the site.
- Avoid project delays caused by material shortages.
6. Quality Control
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections.
- Identify and report quality issues.
- Ensure rectification of defective work before proceeding to the next activity.
- Maintain proper quality-related documentation.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure site safety procedures are followed.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE.
- Identify unsafe working conditions and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with the safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company and project safety requirements.
8. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and review:
- Daily Progress Reports
- Weekly Progress Reports
- Site Instructions
- Work Orders
- Material Requirement Lists
- Vendor/Contractor Reports
- RMC Reports
- Quality Inspection Reports
- Site Photographs
- Measurement Records

9. Cost & Quantity Monitoring
- Assist the Project Manager in monitoring project costs.
- Verify work quantities executed at site.
- Coordinate with QS/Accounts regarding measurements and bills.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Identify potential cost overruns and report them immediately.
10. Project Review & Escalation
- Participate in daily and weekly project review meetings.
- Present project progress and pending activities.
- Highlight delays, material shortages, manpower issues, quality concerns, and vendor issues.
- Provide practical solutions and recovery plans.
- Ensure management instructions are implemented at the site.
Daily Responsibilities
- Attend the daily project/site meeting.
- Review previous-day progress.
- Prepare today's work plan.
- Monitor manpower and material availability.
- Track contractor/vendor activities.
- Check quality and execution.
- Update site instructions and work orders.
- Monitor committed work completion.
- Submit daily progress updates.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 5–10 years of relevant construction/project execution experience.
- Strong knowledge of residential/commercial construction.
- Good understanding of drawings, BOQ, BBS, RCC, masonry, finishing, MEP coordination, and site execution.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and project reporting.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
