Job Description: Interior Designer
Department: Design / Projects
Reporting To: Design Manager / Project Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and responsible Interior Designer to plan, design, and support execution of residential and commercial interior projects. The role involves client coordination, design development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver projects as per company standards.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign & Planning
- Understand client requirements, lifestyle needs, budgets, and functional expectations.
- Develop design concepts including space planning, layouts, mood boards, and material selections.
- Prepare detailed drawings such as layouts, working drawings, and 3D visualizations for approvals.
Client Coordination
- Present design concepts and proposals to clients and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure timely revisions and approvals in line with project timelines.
- Maintain professional communication with clients throughout the design phase.
Coordination & Execution Support
- Coordinate with sales, estimation, and project execution teams for accurate design handover.
- Assist in preparation of BOQs, material specifications, and design-related documentation.
- Conduct site visits to provide design clarifications and ensure execution as per approved drawings.
Quality, Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure designs comply with company standards, budgets, and technical feasibility.
- Maintain proper documentation, drawing version control, and approval records.
- Follow company policies, reporting structures, and confidentiality requirements.
Reporting & Professional Conduct
- Submit regular work updates and reports to the reporting manager.
- Meet assigned deadlines and maintain quality standards.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by management in the interest of business operations.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong design and visualization skills
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or similar tools
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Required Knowledge
- Interior design principles and space planning
- Materials, finishes, and furniture specifications
- Basic understanding of BOQs and costing
- Interior execution processes and site coordination
