Role Overview The Architect / Project Architect will be responsible for independently handling architectural projects, coordinating drawings, developing design details, managing consultants and vendors, and ensuring that the design intent is carried through accurately at site. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working on the architecture of villas as well as buildings, and should be comfortable leading projects with accountability, structure, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage architectural projects from concept development to design detailing and execution support. - Prepare and review architectural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, working drawings, detail drawings, and site coordination drawings. - Work on the architecture of villas, residential buildings, and other built-form projects with a strong understanding of planning, elevations, massing, materials, and execution logic. - Coordinate with structural consultants, MEP consultants, vendors, contractors, and site teams to ensure accurate project execution. - Visit sites regularly to review progress, resolve technical queries, and ensure that drawings and design intent are being followed. - Prepare and maintain project schedules, drawing lists, site notes, minutes of meetings, and coordination records. - Support client presentations, design discussions, and project review meetings. - Take ownership of project timelines, drawing deliverables, coordination follow-ups, and quality control. - Guide junior team members and ensure that drawings are technically sound, complete, and issued on time. - Maintain JJ&A standards for design detailing, documentation, site coordination, and execution quality. Required Skills - Strong architectural design sensibility with good understanding of villas, buildings, elevations, planning, materials, and detailing. - Excellent AutoCAD drafting and architectural working drawing skills. - Ability to independently understand, develop, and coordinate architectural details.
Good knowledge of site execution, civil work, structural coordination, waterproofing interfaces, facade elements, services coordination, and finishing details. - Strong communication skills for client, consultant, contractor, and vendor coordination. - Ability to lead projects, take responsibility, follow up proactively, and work with minimal hand-holding. - Strong eye for proportion, design quality, technical clarity, and construction feasibility. - Organised approach to drawings, documentation, timelines, and project communication. Software Skills Must know: - AutoCAD - Microsoft Office / Google Workspace - SketchUp or equivalent 3D software Preferred: - Revit / BIM knowledge - Enscape / Lumion / V-Ray - Photoshop - InDesign / Canva - Excel for schedules, drawing trackers, and project documentation Experience - Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Architect, preferably with a reputed architecture or design firm. - Prior experience working on the architecture of villas as well as buildings is mandatory. - Candidates should have experience in handling design development, working drawings, consultant coordination, and site execution support. - Candidates must be able to provide a valid letter of experience from their previous or current employer. - Experience in high-end residential, villas, private homes, boutique buildings, hospitality, or developer-led projects will be preferred. Location Opera House, Mumbai This is a full-time, in-office role. Remote working will not be considered. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to the office and visiting project sites across Mumbai and other project locations as required.
