Guidewire Senior Quality Assurance (QA)
Role purpose
As a Guidewire Senior Quality Assurance, you are accountable for end‑to‑end quality ownership of Guidewire solutions across run and change. You ensure that Guidewire platforms are fit‑for‑purpose, stable, scalable, and production‑ready, by embedding quality engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
This role goes beyond managing test execution to include quality strategy, automation leadership, release confidence, and defect prevention, while mentoring QA engineers and acting as the quality escalation point.
Key responsibilities
Quality ownership & strategy

Own the quality approach and test strategy for Guidewire initiatives across:

InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter)

Digital platforms (Engage, Jutro)
-
Integrations, APIs, and data flows
-
Define risk‑based testing strategies aligned to business criticality and platform usage
-
Ensure quality is engineered early (shift‑left), not validated late
-
Act as the quality authority for assigned domains or workstreams
Test governance & standards
-
Define and enforce standards for:
-
Functional, integration, and end‑to‑end testing
-
Regression and release qualification
-
Performance and non‑functional testing
-
Ensure adherence to Zurich SDLC, quality gates, and Guidewire standards
-
Govern defect triage, prioritization, and resolution
-
Ensure audit‑ready traceability between requirements, tests, and outcomes
Automation & quality engineering
-
Drive automation‑first testing for Guidewire solutions, including:
-
Functional and regression automation
-
Integration testing
-
Promote reuse of automation frameworks, test assets, and test data, globally for Zurich.
-
Partner with DevSecOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
-
Measure and improve automation effectiveness and execution reliability
Delivery & Agile leadership
-
Act as the QA lead within Agile delivery teams
-
Lead quality activities across:
-
Sprint planning and backlog grooming
-
Sprint testing and release readiness
-
Demos and retrospectives from a quality lens
-
Coordinate closely with Developers, BSAs, and Release teams to ensure quality outcomes
-
Provide clear go/no‑go recommendations for releases based on risk and evidence
Run quality & production stability
-
Own quality support for L2/L3 production issues
-
Lead defect root‑cause analysis and prevention initiatives
-
Drive reduction in defect leakage, repeat incidents, and change‑related failures
-
Partner with Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to improve reliability and operational outcomes
Performance & non‑functional quality
-
Own 360’ testing strategy and execution for Guidewire platforms
-
Ensure solutions meet agreed benchmarks for scalability, throughput, and response times
-
Support security and vulnerability testing in collaboration with cross-functional testing teams.
-
Ensure non‑functional risks are identified and addressed before production release
Mentoring & capability development
-
Mentor Intermediate and Junior QA engineers
-
Guide teams on test design, automation best practices, and quality thinking
-
Support onboarding and academy initiatives for QA capability building
Continuous improvement & reuse

Promote standardization and reuse of:

Test cases and regression packs
-
Automation assets
-
Test data strategies
-
Identify opportunities to simplify test cycles and reduce cycle time
-
Continuously improve quality efficiency, coverage, and predictability
Required skills & experience
3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering roles-
Strong hands‑on experience testing Guidewire platforms

Strong understanding of P&C insurance business processes
-
Demonstrated experience leading QA workstreams or domains
-
Strong knowledge of Agile delivery and test management practices
-
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
Desirable experience

Guidewire Cloud (GWCP) testing experience
-
Experience with Automation frameworks for Guidewire (UI, API, integration)
-
Performance testing for transaction‑heavy platforms
-
Experience in regulated or audit‑driven environments
-
Collaboration with DevSecOps and SRE teams
