A Quality Assurance Manager in an OE (Open End) spinning mill oversees raw material testing, monitors sliver and yarn quality parameters like U% and count variation, manages lab standards, and ensures final package quality meets buyer specifications to minimize rejections and optimize production efficiency.
Core Responsibilities:
Raw Material Control:
- Check cotton or waste quality.
- Test trash content, moisture, and micronaire.
- Approve mixings for production.
Process Quality Monitoring:
- Track blowroom and carding performance.
- Monitor rotor spinning machine parameters.
- Check sliver and yarn count consistency.
Yarn Quality Testing:
- Measure yarn strength and elongation.
- Track imperfections like thin, thick, and naps.
- Record unevenness (U%) and hairiness.
Quality Audits & Compliance:
- Calibrate lab instruments on a regular schedule.
- Maintain ISO or industry quality standards.
- Inspect packed yarn for transit readiness.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Review daily quality reports.
- Analyze customer complaints and root causes.
- Train production staff on quality norms.
Educational Requirements
- Degree: B.E. / B.Tech in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, or Yarn Manufacturing.
- Alternative: Diploma in Textile Technology with extended hands-on supervisory experience (10+ years) in spinning quality control.
- Preferred Certifications: Specialized training programs from bodies like SITRA or certifications in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 audits)
Experience & Industry Background
- Work Experience: 5 to 12 years working in a spinning mill environment, with at least 3–5 years handling leadership or independent charge within a quality control or assurance department.
- OE Expertise: Direct operational and fault-finding familiarity with Open-End rotor spinning machines, blowroom mixing, carding performance, and auto-coner clearers.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
