Role Overview
The Finance Controller will be responsible for managing the overall finance function including financial reporting, plant finance,
working capital management, commercial finance, compliance, and internal controls. The role requires strong understanding of
manufacturing cost structures and FMCG distribution channels including General Trade (GT), Modern Trade (MT), and E-commerce
platforms.
The position will play a critical role in improving financial discipline, profitability, and decision-making across manufacturing and
sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Control
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee book closure, balance sheet review, and variance analysis.
- Implement strong internal financial controls and SOPs.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and business plans.
- Prepare MIS reports including product profitability, channel profitability, and region-wise performance.
2. Manufacturing Finance & Costing
- Manage plant finance, inventory valuation, and cost accounting.
- Develop and monitor standard costing and BOM structures.
- Analyse production costs, yield variance, wastage, and capacity utilization.
- Monitor raw material price fluctuations and impact on margins.
- Work closely with plant operations to improve cost efficiency and working capital cycle.
3. Sales & Commercial Finance
General Trade (GT)
- Monitor distributor margins and trade schemes. - Review credit exposure and distributor receivables.
Modern Trade (MT)
- Evaluate listing fees, trade promotions, and discount structures. - Analyse channel profitability.
E-Commerce
- Track platform commissions, marketing spends, returns, and logistics costs. - Evaluate SKU-level profitability across marketplaces.
4. Working Capital & Cash Flow
- Manage receivables, payables, and inventory levels.
- Optimize cash flow planning and liquidity management.
- Monitor credit limits, distributor financing, and debtor ageing.
5. Budgeting & Business Planning
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
- Partner with sales and operations teams for financial planning and demand projections.
- Develop scenario analysis for pricing, margin improvement, and expansion strategies.
6. Compliance & Statutory Requirements
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
- Coordinate with auditors, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
7. Strategic & Leadership Role
- Support management in fundraising, banking relationships, and investor reporting.
- Implement ERP and financial automation systems.
- Build a strong finance team and improve cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications
- CA cut 10–15 years of experience in FMCG or consumer goods manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of costing, supply chain finance, and distribution economics.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Tally.
