The Operations Head for Electric Bus Mobility is responsible for the end-to-end execution, deployment, uptime, and maintenance of an electric bus fleet and its associated charging infrastructure.This role acts as a bridge between technology, field execution, and government or enterprise stakeholders to deliver scalable and sustainable public or private transport solutions.
You will oversee day-to-day depot operations, maximize fleet uptime, scale charging hubs, optimize energy utilization, and manage critical relationships with State Transport Undertakings (STUs) and OEMs.
Fleet & Depot Operations
- Maximize Fleet Uptime: Achieve target utilization and operational readiness metrics for all deployed electric buses.
- Route & Schedule Optimization: Plan daily schedules, route performance, and dispatch sequences to optimize battery usage.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Build and enforce standardized operational workflows across multiple charging hubs and depots.
Charging Infrastructure Management
- Hub Maintenance: Oversee the uptime, safety, and continuous functionality of fast-charging and smart-charging stations.
- Energy Management: Monitor and regulate grid power consumption, peak load planning, and energy efficiency.
Maintenance & Lifecycle Management
- Predictive Programs: Institutionalize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for both vehicles and high-voltage battery packs.
- Vendor & OEM Coordination: Manage service SLAs, parts inventory, and warranty claims directly with bus OEMs and telematics providers.
Stakeholder & Government Liaison
- STU/B2G Interface: Lead operational delivery and dispute resolution for large-scale government contracts (e.g., State Transport Undertakings).
- Compliance: Ensure absolute compliance with regional transport regulations, environmental standards, and vehicle homologation mandates.
Financial & Data Oversight
- P&L Responsibility: Control operational budgets, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), and reduce asset losses.
- KPI Dashboards: Utilize IoT and telematics dashboards to track vehicle health, driver behaviour, and charging cycle metrics.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering; MBA/PGDM in Operations Management is highly preferred.
Experience: 10–15+ years in mass transit, large-scale fleet operations, or logistics; minimum 3–5 years directly leading EV mobility or electric bus networks.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of EV powertrains, battery thermal management systems (BMS), telematics, and heavy-duty charging infrastructure.
Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder negotiation, crisis management, data analytics, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
