Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical

Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical to lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for machine manufacturing and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
The role involves complete ownership of concept-to-production engineering, delivering innovative, cost-effective, and reliable machine design solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design projects for industrial machinery and SPMs from concept to commissioning
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD)
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up, material selection, and design optimization
- Ensure designs meet functional, safety, quality, and cost requirements
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and automation teams for seamless integration
- Conduct design reviews, FMEA, DFMA, DFS, and risk assessments
- Support prototype development, assembly trials, and shop floor troubleshooting
- Mentor junior engineers and guide best engineering practices
- Research and implement new technologies, materials, and processes
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 6–10 years of experience in machine manufacturing / SPM / custom machine design
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD)
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, welding, sheet metal, casting, assembly
- Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical motion systems
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and product lifecycle management
- Excellent problem-solving and project execution skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PDM/PLM tools (Windchill, Teamcenter)
- Exposure to automation integration (PLC, robotics)
- Knowledge of ISO / ASME / ANSI machine design standards

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
