Job Summary
The Middle School History & Civics Teacher plans, delivers, and assesses high-quality lessons for Class 7 and Class 8. This role ensures strict alignment with CISCE guidelines, focusing on chronological understanding, source analysis, and civic awareness to prepare students for senior school.Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum & Lesson Planning
- Align all lessons with the latest CISCE curriculum for Middle School History and Civics.
- Integrate visual tools such as historical timelines, primary sources, maps, and digital archives.
- Connect civic concepts to current democratic systems and global events to make lessons relevant.
2. Classroom Instruction
- Teach Class 7 topics including the Medieval Period (Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, Vijayanagara Kingdom) and the Making of the Constitution.
- Teach Class 8 topics including the Modern Period (The Industrial Revolution, American & French Revolutions, Indian Freedom Movement) and the United Nations.
- Foster critical thinking by training students to evaluate historical perspectives, cause-and-effect relationships, and source materials.
3. Student Assessment & Support
- Design exam-ready assessments including objective questions, structured long answers, picture-based questions, and timeline tests.
- Evaluate internal projects fairly in accordance with school and board marking criteria guidelines.
- Differentiate instruction methods to support students with varying academic needs and learning styles.
4. Classroom Management & Collaboration
- Maintain classroom discipline to foster a safe, productive, and respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Social Sciences department to ensure smooth vertical curriculum progression.
- Communicate regular updates to parents regarding student academic progress, behavior, and project submissions.
Eligibility Criteria1. Educational Qualifications
- Academic Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History (B.A. or M.A. in History) from a recognized university.
- Professional Degree: A mandatory Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from any recognized university.
- Methodology: B.Ed. teaching methodology should ideally focus on Social Sciences or History.
2. Required Experience
- Board Familiarity: Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in either a CBSE or ICSE school.
- Grade-Level Expertise: Proven track record of handling and managing Class 7 and Class 8 age groups effectively.
- Practical Skills: Demonstrated experience teaching foundational historical skills, including source interpretation and chronological mapping.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
