The Psychiatric Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health conditions. The role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments, supporting recovery, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The nurse will work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and monitor patient progress
- Administer prescribed medications and observe for side effects or reactions
- Provide therapeutic communication and emotional support to patients
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans
- Monitor patient behavior and ensure safety within the facility
- Manage psychiatric emergencies and apply de-escalation techniques when required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for holistic patient care
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and mental health management
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- B.Sc Nursing or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
- Valid Nursing Registration (State Nursing Council)
Experience:
- Prior experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing is preferred
- Fresh graduates with a strong interest in mental health care may also apply
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
