A Workshop Manager oversees daily operations, leading technicians, managing workflow, resources, budgets, and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in a mechanical or production environment, handling everything from scheduling and inventory to client interaction and performance metrics for overall workshop success. Key duties include team leadership, process optimization, quality control, budget management, inventory control, client communication, and strict adherence to safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Workflow: Plan, organize, and manage daily activities, schedule tasks, assign work, and ensure timely project completion.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, motivate, and manage a team of technicians and support staff, fostering a positive environment.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality standards, conduct inspections, and resolve issues to ensure high-quality output.
- Resource Management: Oversee equipment maintenance, manage inventory (parts, supplies), and optimize resource allocation.
- Financial Management: Manage workshop budgets, monitor costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
- Client Relations: Act as a point of contact, manage client expectations, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and industry regulations, conducting training as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and workflows.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Technical expertise or a mechanical background.
- Experience in budget management, inventory control, and project management.
- Proficiency with relevant software (Excel, CAD) and basic computer skills.
- Relevant certifications or formal training in mechanics or engineering.
