Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- PLC Programming & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs for automation and process control for furnaces and material handling equipment.
- Modify and optimize existing PLC logic to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability.
- SCADA/HMI Integration
- Configure and program Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for operator use.
- Ensure seamless communication between PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.
- System Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, and test PLC hardware, wiring, and control panels.
- Lead or assist in system commissioning and site acceptance tests (SAT/FAT).
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve PLC-related breakdowns and system errors.
- Provide technical support during plant operations to minimize downtime.
- Control System Design
- Work with electrical and instrumentation teams to design control system architecture.
- Prepare wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and PLC configuration documents.
- Process Optimization
- Analyze automation processes to identify areas for energy saving, throughput improvement, and cost reduction.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain updated PLC logic backups, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams for smooth plant operations.
- Support vendors and contractors during project execution.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Train operators and maintenance staff on PLC systems, alarms, and basic troubleshooting.
- Integrating PLCs with ERP/MES systems (Industry 4.0 readiness).
- Implementing Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions and predictive maintenance logic.
- Cybersecurity measures for control systems.
- Managing upgrades/migrations from legacy PLCs (Siemens S5, Allen-Bradley PLC-5, etc.).
Required Knowledge/Skills/Education/Experience:
Experience of 3+ years is preferred.
Knowledge in AutoCAD/Equivalent electrical software is an added advantage.
PLC knowledge is required.
Must have the ability to understand complicated drawings.
Good knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is preferred.
Must understand the fabrication, wiring and assembly work.
