Senior WordPress SEO Specialist (On-Page SEO & Content Optimization)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced WordPress SEO Specialist to optimize and scale the SEO performance of our established websites. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with WordPress, Yoast SEO, technical SEO fundamentals, content optimization, internal linking strategies, and AI-powered SEO workflows.
Our websites contain 100+ existing pages and blogs that require ongoing SEO optimization, internal linking improvements, content audits, keyword optimization, and search visibility enhancements.
This is a hands-on execution role. We are looking for someone who can independently identify SEO opportunities and implement improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform SEO audits on existing website pages and blog content
- Optimize pages using Yoast SEO Premium
- Conduct keyword research and keyword mapping
- Create and optimize SEO titles, meta descriptions, headings, and content structure
- Develop and implement internal linking strategies across the website
- Improve page-level SEO scores and content relevance
- Optimize image alt text and media assets
- Monitor and improve Google Search Console performance
- Identify technical SEO issues and work with developers/designers for implementation
- Implement schema markup and structured data where appropriate
- Optimize new content before publishing
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to improve SEO workflows
- Track keyword rankings and identify growth opportunities
Required Skills
- 3+ years of WordPress SEO experience
- Strong experience with Yoast SEO Premium or Rank Math
- Strong understanding of On-Page SEO
- Keyword research and content optimization
- Internal linking strategy development
- Google Search Console
- Google Analytics
- Technical SEO fundamentals
- Schema markup knowledge
- AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.)

Interview Assignment
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to:
- Audit an existing WordPress page
- Recommend keyword improvements
- Create SEO title and meta description
- Suggest internal linking opportunities
- Provide a 30-day SEO improvement plan

This role is focused on SEO execution, WordPress optimization, and organic growth.
We are not looking for a content writer, social media manager, or paid advertising specialist.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
