We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll specialist in human resources, with a strong emphasis on statutory compliance and working knowledge of recruitment.
The role will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable labour laws and statutory requirements, while also supporting the organization’s talent acquisition efforts. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in compliance processes, payroll coordination, and end-to-end recruitment lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all statutory labour laws and regulations applicable in India
- Manage and maintain HR documentation, records, and statutory registers
- Support payroll inputs, salary structuring, and compensation processes
- Drive recruitment activities in coordination with hiring managers
- Maintain HR data integrity and ensure timely reporting
- Assist in audits and inspections related to labour and statutory compliance
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders
Compliance Responsibilities
- Handle Provident Fund (PF) compliance, including registration, filings, reconciliations, and inspections
- Manage Employee State Insurance (ESIC) compliance and documentation
- Ensure adherence to POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) regulations, including:
- Maintenance of Internal Committee (IC) records
- Conducting awareness sessions
- Filing annual statutory reports
- Maintain statutory registers under applicable labour laws (e.g., Shops & Establishment Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, etc.)
- Coordinate with external consultants or authorities for compliance-related matters
- Ensure timely submission of returns and filings under various labour laws
- Support internal and external compliance audits
Recruitment Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including:
- Sourcing candidates through job portals, referrals, and other channels
- Screening resumes and conducting initial interviews
- Coordinating interview schedules with hiring managers
- Managing offer rollouts and negotiation
- Facilitating onboarding and joining formalities
- Maintain and update candidate databases and talent pipelines
- Track recruitment metrics and ensure timely closures
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–4 years of relevant HR experience, with a strong focus on compliance
- Sound knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory requirements
- Hands-on experience in PF, ESIC, and payroll processing
- Good understanding of POSH compliance and documentation
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and HRMS tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to compliance audits and labour inspections
- Familiarity with payroll systems and CTC structuring
- Experience handling both compliance and recruitment responsibilities in a generalist HR role
Compensation Range
- ₹5 – ₹7 LPA, depending on experience, skills, and domain expertise
