Job Summary
The Fire Alarm Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Fire Alarm Systems installed at customer sites. The role requires ensuring system reliability, compliance with safety standards, and timely resolution of service calls.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems.
- Inspect Fire Alarm Control Panels, Smoke Detectors, Heat Detectors, MCPs, Hooters, Modules, and Interfaces.
- Conduct system health checks and functional testing.
- Maintain records of inspections, testing, and maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose and rectify faults in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Attend breakdown calls and emergency service requests.
- Replace defective devices and restore system functionality.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support when required.
Testing & Commissioning
- Assist in testing and recommissioning after maintenance or repairs.
- Verify proper operation of all field devices and control panels.
- Ensure systems comply with applicable fire safety standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare service reports, maintenance reports, and fault reports.
- Maintain AMC records and customer documentation.
- Update maintenance logs and submit reports to management.
Customer Coordination
- Coordinate with clients, facility teams, and contractors during maintenance activities.
- Explain system status, findings, and corrective actions to customers.
- Support AMC renewals through quality service delivery.
Safety Compliance
- Follow site safety rules and company procedures.
- Use testing equipment and tools safely and correctly.
- Ensure compliance with fire and electrical safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
- Freshers or candidates with relevant maintenance experience may apply.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and field devices.
- Understanding of electrical wiring and fault-finding techniques.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and system drawings.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Honeywell, Notifier, Morley, Edwards, Bosch, Siemens, or equivalent Fire Alarm Systems.
- Knowledge of CCTV and PA Systems is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with AMC and preventive maintenance activities.
