Job Description
Social Media Content Strategist & Creative Controller
Department: Social Media / Content & Creative
Reports to: Creative Lead / Account Director
Experience: 3 years (agency or brand-side social media)
Location: On-site
Employment type: Full-time
At Team Pumpkin, social media is where brands earn attention and build belief. We are looking for a Social Media Content Strategist & Creative Controller who can do both halves of the job well — shape the strategy that decides what a brand says, and control the creative quality of how it shows up across every post, story, reel and campaign.
This is a balanced role. You will own content calendars, platform strategy and performance thinking, while also acting as the quality gatekeeper for copy, design and video before anything goes live. You sit at the intersection of strategy and craft, making sure ideas are both smart and beautifully executed.
-
Build and own monthly content strategies and calendars across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, X and emerging platforms for assigned brands.
-
Translate brand and campaign briefs into clear content pillars, formats and posting plans aligned to business objectives.
-
Define and maintain each brand's voice, tone and visual direction, and keep it consistent across every piece of content.
-
Research audiences, competitors, culture and platform trends, and turn insights into timely, scroll-stopping content ideas.
-
Track performance against KPIs (reach, engagement, saves, growth, conversions) and use the data to sharpen future content.
-
Collaborate with account managers and clients to present strategies, share reports and recommend next steps.
-
Act as the final quality check for all social creative — copy, design, motion and video — before it reaches the client or goes live.
-
Review work against the brief, brand guidelines and platform best practices, and give clear, constructive feedback to designers, copywriters and video editors.
-
Maintain consistently high standards of writing, visual craft and storytelling across every deliverable.
-
Guard brand consistency, accuracy and tone, and catch errors before they become public.
-
Brief and guide the creative team so execution matches the strategic intent, and unblock them when they are stuck.
-
Manage timelines and approval flows so content ships on schedule without compromising quality.
-
3 years of experience in social media, content strategy or creative roles, ideally at an agency.
-
Strong writing skills with a sharp eye for what makes content work on each platform.
-
A good creative eye — able to judge design, layout, video and motion, even if you don't produce them yourself.
-
Solid understanding of platform algorithms, formats, trends and analytics.
-
Experience building content calendars and running them end to end.
-
Comfortable giving feedback and holding a quality bar without slowing the team down.
-
Organised, deadline-driven and able to juggle multiple brands at once.
-
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Figma, CapCut/Premiere (basics), Meta Business Suite and social analytics/scheduling tools.
-
Experience handling brands across more than one category (D2C, lifestyle, tech, F&B, etc.).
-
Hands-on experience with paid social or influencer collaborations.
-
A portfolio or examples of social campaigns you helped strategise or shape.
