Roles and Responsibilities
- Installing and configuring servers.
- Must be aware of types of attack and security bugs.
- Installing and configuring application software.
- Ensure adequate memory allotment and resolve software failure and dependency issues.
- Provide a set of activities to control hardware and software configuration and maintain policies for users.
- Creating and maintaining user accounts.
- Maintaining security by providing role on a user account that define the level of access.
- Backing up and restoring files.
- Monitor the performance and health of the Linux systems and Troubleshoot system failures.
- Identify system bottleneck and should be able to solve them.
- Use System tools to increase performance and determine when hardware need to be upgrade.
- Configuring a secure system.
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks.
- Implementing Devops principles, creating and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge on LAN management, WAN connectivity, working of switch/Router at site.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good logical and analytical skills.
Skills required
- Strong Linux/Unix/Windows Fundamentals, good understanding on various subsystems (memory, storage, networks etc.)
- Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, HA & Load Balancing is a must.
- Knowledge of Scripting Languages such as Bash/Python and automation tools
- Hands on Experience in installation, configuration and administration of various flavors of Unix/Linux servers.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios or Zabbix
- Experience with Linux security monitoring and patching
- Strong networking knowledge
- Experience implementing and managing popular cloud environments such as Digital Ocean, AWS, Google Cloud etc
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience managing Office 365
- Experience in Devops creating and managing CI/CD pipelines considered a plus
- Knowledge about virtualisation technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
