Pharmacist – Roles & Responsibilities
- Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Dispense medications safely and accurately.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, and possible side effects.
- Monitor drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Maintain patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stock control.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medicines.
- Comply with pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Provide health and wellness advice to patients.
- Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy.
- Handle controlled substances according to legal requirements.
- Participate in medication safety and quality improvement activities.
- Train and supervise pharmacy aides, assistants, or technicians.
