Project Engineer / Project Manager
Position: Project Engineer / Project Manager – NHAI Road Construction
Experience Required:
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Highway/Road Construction.
- Minimum 10+ years in a Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer role.
- Proven experience in NHAI, MoRTH, State Highway, or National Highway Projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end execution of NHAI road/highway construction projects.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budget while maintaining quality standards.
- Plan, monitor, and control project schedules, resources, manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate with NHAI officials, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with NHAI, MoRTH, IRC specifications, contract conditions, and safety regulations.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Manage billing, measurement books (MB), IPCs, BOQ execution, and project documentation.
- Resolve technical, contractual, and operational issues at project sites.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, surveyors, QA/QC, planning, safety, and execution teams.
- Review project drawings, estimates, DPRs, and construction methodologies.
- Ensure effective quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) throughout project execution.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Conduct project review meetings and report progress to senior management.
- Maintain statutory compliance, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and government agencies.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of NHAI specifications, MoRTH standards, and IRC codes.
- Expertise in highway construction, bridges, culverts, drainage, earthwork, WMM, DBM, BC, and pavement works.
- Strong planning and scheduling skills.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple departments and large project teams.
