JJob Title: Senior AccountantJob Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of GST, TDS, accounting standards, banking, and ERP systems. The role requires excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to ensure compliance with statutory and company policies while supporting the finance function.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards.
- Review and approve journal entries and general ledger transactions.
- Ensure proper accounting of expenses, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare schedules for statutory and internal audits.
Bank & Treasury Management
- Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Monitor bank balances and cash flow.
- Process vendor, employee, and statutory payments after verification.
- Coordinate with banks for account-related matters.
GST Compliance
- Review GST data and ensure timely filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other applicable returns.
- Reconcile GSTR-2B with books of accounts.
- Monitor Input Tax Credit (ITC) eligibility and reconciliations.
- Handle GST notices, departmental queries, and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations.
TDS & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure correct deduction and timely deposit of TDS.
- Review quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q & 26Q).
- Issue TDS certificates and reconcile Form 26AS.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax and statutory laws.
Reconciliations
- Perform vendor reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct customer ledger reconciliations.
- Review inter-company and ledger reconciliations.
- Reconcile advances, deposits, and statutory accounts.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly MIS reports.
- Assist in preparing Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
- Analyze financial data and present reports to management.
- Support budgeting and financial planning activities.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with statutory, internal, GST, and tax auditors.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
Team Management
- Supervise junior accounting staff.
- Review accounting work for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide guidance and training to team members.
- Ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
ERP & Documentation
- Work efficiently on ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP, Tally, Busy, or similar software.
- Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.
- Prepare reports using advanced MS Excel functions, Pivot Tables, Lookup functions, and data analysis tools.
Required Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter (Preferred)
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in Accounts & Finance.
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or trading industry will be preferred.
